Types of brace
There is a lot of types of orthodontic brace. They divide into two main groups: removable brace, which the patient can take out before meals or sport and the fixed brace which is permanently attached to the teeth until the damage is corrected.

Removable braces have the advantage in being more convenient regarding the cleaning of the teeth. However they are not as popularly used as the fixed brace. Fixed braces are difficult to clean and are sensitive to hard food, which is avoided once they are worn.

Both types of brace require their wearers to undergo a regimen and some extra dental duties. It is necessary to consider these facts at the beginning of the orthodonotic treatment.
It is important to note that once the teeth are straightened by the brace, it does not necessarly mean the end of their being worn. Sometimes teeth can partially return to their original setting, so it might be necessary to wear various types of removable brace for a period stated in agreement with the dentist. It is common that the bottom teeth require stabilizing with a short thin wire (retainer), attached to the inside area of the teeth, avoiding any return to their unwanted setting.
