Treatment procedures
Two basic treatment procedures exist, conservative and surgical. The main goal of both is the clearing of source inflammation to avoid the loss of the tooth.
Conservative method
In the early stage of the disease we choose with the agreement with the patient a conservative method of treatment. This is very gentle and effective only in the early disease stages. In the advanced stages we use this along with the surgical method. Conservative healing consists first of all of the clearing of scaling and plaque either mechanically or in combination with ultrasound. In addition we teach the patient the proper oral hygiene habits.
Surgical method
If it is not possible to clear the plaque and scaling properly with the conservative method, we employ the surgical method. With this method we are able to reach surgically the spots, using anaesthesia, which are not accessible using the conservative method. It is also important to try to clear the source of inflammation and to avoid the loss of the damaged teeth.
