Gum status and orthodontics
A necessary condition for good teeth during the orthodontics process is excellent hygiene. The word excellent is not an exaggeration. Plaque developes on the tooth within minutes of eating and if it is not removed, is the first step to caries. Subsequent problem is gum inflammation and the related exposure of collars and roots.
